These pictures are from last weekend. Went for a little ride up pete creek. If you look close at the second picture you can see some of the 100 plus elk we saw. the next picture is with the big lens. The rest of the pictures are just filler.

The light is beautiful!
I'm especially a fan of picture number one. (not that I know exactly what peak that is)

Where IS Pete creek? Somewhere near Willow Creek summit I can guess, but more than that....

I am surprised at how little snow there is on the ground.

Always nice to see the mountains!

WoW! Those are gorgeous! I love that crisp, clear winter light. (Can light BE crisp?)
I'm jealous you saw all those elk. I have only seen a few from a great distance.
You got some really lovely shots there. Thanks for posting them.

Good Ol Lost River Peak. (see I remembered that at least)
Pete creek must be nice if it is so close to that!

Is that the one that ends up at an unused ranch house and a big deep gully on the right?

I don't know how you get that sky so blue....maybe it's living up in the mountains out of the smog clouds...lucky you....I can't believe all those elk!!! I've only seen that many elk together in places like outside of Jackson Hole or Hardware Ranch..once, again....lucky you :) I'm passing that one on to my Dad, he'll enjoy it, too. Great Photos. Great Adventures.

You really caught that crisp air/light that only seems to happen in the winter. That what the Olympics look like on a clear winters day--beautiful and crisp. The only time I have seen that many elk is up by Mt. St. Helen's up here. They have some big herds there. It is always amazing to see so many together like that.
