we went on a long drive saturday into the frank church wilderness area. part of the picture's are from a fire from last summer. some are of older fire's. you can see the road in some of the picture's it follows ridge lines most the 30+miles to the end of the road. the lake picture are at the end of the road. it felt like the road was the never ending road. it was very smokey and windy that's why the picture's aren't very clear in the back ground.

The lake and wildflowers are gorgeous. I also think that there is something starkly beautiful about some of the burned out areas. Maybe it's the contrast of the black trees against blue sky?
I thought that last year when we went on our backpacking trip to Soldier Lakes in the Sawtooths and hiked through some burned out areas. Yes. I know. I'm weird.
Hey, is this the access road going west out of Challis? I think Roberta and I went there 2 years ago. We didn't make it to the end of the road because it was creepy with out 4 wheel drive.
The lake looks like we really missed out!
it's the road that go up challis creek, then turn right and go up to twin peaks and over the top to sleeping deer.
Really beautiful lake. The burned pictures are interesting
